M Diamond Ranch

The M Diamond Ranch offers the ultimate western experience in Sedona! Their Sedona horseback rides and Cowboy Cookouts have easily become one of our top picks for things to do when visiting Sedona and the Verde River Valley. And just when we thought they couldn’t get any better they reach for the moon!

M Diamond Ranch is now offering a very special 1 hour moonlight horseback ride on the night before and the night of the full moon for adults. In addition to these special moonlight rides they have also added 1 hour private rides for couples or small groups, including sunrise or sunset rides! Go Fishing at Oak Creek & Verde River in the Sedona Area

While you are on vacation in Sedona, Arizona and looking for some outdoor family activities, why not plan on doing some fishing? Yes, there is fishing in the desert! There are plenty of places to take yourself, or your family, fishing near Sedona. You can even take a guided fishing trip if you prefer, rather than striking out on your own. Two of my all time favorite places to cast are:

Oak Creek
There are many reasons I like to fish in Oak Creek. The main reason I like to cast in Oak Creek would have to be the scenery. It is one of the most relaxing and beautiful areas near Sedona to fish. The clear canyon stream is easily accessible with a scenic road leading right down the middle of it. You have a chance of catching rainbow trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass and flathead catfish.

Mountain Biking in Sedona, Arizona

This is the perfect time of year to take a vacation in Sedona, Arizona and treat yourself to some outdoor sedona activities like mountain biking. Not only does Sedona offer many trails but it also offers great weather and breathtaking scenery. There are trails in Sedona for all skill levels and if you do not want to go the trails alone you can take a Sedona guided tour with one of the Sedona’s specialty tour companies.

If you are a novice like me I would suggest an easy start. My favorite start to a day of mountain biking is Bell Rock Pathway. The pathway links the Village of Oak Creek and Sedona. The trail is only about 7 miles long, round trip, provides great scenery and the pathway has a wide surface for an easy smooth ride, but there are some steep hills too, making you put in some effort. You can reach Bell Rock Pathway from the junction of Routes 89A and 179 in Sedona by taking 179 south 3.6 miles to a paved turnout and trailhead parking on the left (east) at milepost 309.8, .2 miles south of the entrance to the United Methodist Church for the northern trailhead.

Mountain Biking Sedona, Arizona

 Sedona – A Mountain Biker’s Delight

Set amongst towering sandstone cliffs, calming metaphysical energy, and natural red rock, Sedona is one of Arizona’s most popular destinations. From its rich history and colorful spirit, Sedona captures and enchants the visitor.

For the mountain biker, it’s a religious experience, the final destination of a long journey that culminates in trails ranging from flowing, big-ring singletrack to white-knuckle, sphincter-clenching, cliff-riding insanity.

The trails east of town feature a lot of rocks, slickrock, loose rock, steep climbs, killer ascents, behemoth ledge drops and tight, technical switchbacks. Begin your Sedona adventure on the Bell Rock trail, a fast, hard-packed singletrack that is big-ring fun.
