California Country Music Comes To Arizona with Calico

Sound Bites Grill invites “Calico” the band to its stunning venue to create a special experience for Arizona music lovers! Calico is a new band with an exciting formation of female singer/songwriter talent from Los Angeles comprised of songstresses Kirsten Proffit, Jaime Wyatt, and Manda Mosher. The girls of Calico bring their harmonies, tales of trial and triumph, guitar-slinging skills, dashing good looks and a mission to bring smiles to faces young and old.
The trio has recently formed an alliance with Fender/Gretsch guitars, based in Scottsdale, AZ as representatives for the all the new Gretsch acoustic roots line. They will be making their way to Austin, Texas by way of Sedona, Arizona and New Mexico in March for several shows. Armed with the new Gretsch banjo, mandolin and a slew of beautiful acoustic guitars, the girls will be bringing their 3 part harmonies and brand new EP to Sound Bites Grill to kick off their tour.

Calico is headed up by Kirsten Proffit, whom performed at Sound Bites herself a few months ago. Brash yet sweet, powered by love, passion, pain, and loss, Kirsten Profit’s songs connect with listeners on a level far deeper than most of today’s singer-songwriters. If you’re new to Kirsten’s music, well, her unique, radio-ready sound immediately conjures up elements of the best female performers. After just a handful of public performances in Southern California, Kirsten earned multiple nominations in the Orange County Music Awards. Her instantly hummable songs and intelligent lyrics, coupled with her dynamic stage presence, easily stood out in the hotly contested category, and Kirsten took home the “Best Female Artist” award.
