There is a great line up of entertainment for you in Sedona, Arizona this week starting off with Shakespeare in high definition when the Sedona International Film Festival presents “The Tempest” on Tuesday, July 17th, 2012. The Film Festival will also be joining cities and towns nationwide to host screenings of the documentary “Fixing the Future” on July 18th. And the National Theatre of London returns to Sedona , July 19th – 21st, when the Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere of the award-winning London productions of “Frankenstein”.  On Friday, July 20th, Studio Live Sedona presents the very special event “Songwriter in the Round”. On Saturday let your pride colors show at Studio live with the Sedona Pride White Party. If you are looking for late night entertainment Olde Sedona Bar & Grill offers everything from karaoke to live bands throughout the week.

Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ & ‘Fixing the Future’ & ‘Frankenstein’

  • 07/17 – ‘The Tempest’
    Shakespeare in high definition debuts in Sedona with the big screen premiere of “The Tempest” at the Mary D.Fisher Theatre. This high definition, big screen version of “The Tempest” was filmed live over two days with eight cameras at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada.“The Tempest” pits the desire for revenge against the demands of love and asks if man is capable of creating a brave new world.The presentation will include a 20-minute Q&A with Christopher Plummer and Des McAnuff, hosted by Barry Avrich, Executive Producer of “The Tempest”…Read More

  • 07/18 – ‘Fixing the Future’
    The Sedona International Film Festival joins cities and towns nationwide to host screenings of the documentary “Fixing the Future”, spurring action toward strengthening local economies. his one-night-only event at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.In “Fixing the Future”, host David Brancaccio (of public radio’s Marketplace and NOW on PBS) visits locations across America that are using sustainable and innovative approaches to create jobs and build prosperity, inspiring hope and renewal amidst economic collapse. The screenings of “Fixing the Future” will be followed by an exclusive onscreen discussion panel…Read More

  • 07/19th & 21st – ‘Frankenstein’ — from the National Theatre of London
    The National Theatre of London returns to Sedona when the Sedona International Film Festival hosts the big screen premiere of the award-winning London productions of “Frankenstein”. Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) returned to the theatre to direct this visionary new production. Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting, Dark Shadows) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Warhorse, BBC’s Sherlock, Star Trek sequel) alternate roles in Boyle’s adaptation of the Mary Shelley classic…Read More

On July 20th Studio Live will host Songwriters in the Round featuring Courtney Marie Andrews, PK Gregory and Jake Payne. Songwriters in the Round offers a unique peak in to the songwriting process as songwriters share the stage together and take turns singing their songs and telling the stories behind them.

Sedona Gay Pride is happy to announce the 4th Annual White Party Gay-La Fundraiser, at Studio Live. Come out for a great evening of entertainment, dance, and a great chance for you to meet new and old friends, featuring your Hostesses for the evening Miss Gay Tucson America 2012, Di Va and Miss Tucson Capital Cities Emeritus 2012, Janee’ Starr, as well as music by DJ Mixtress Hava.
