Haunted Halloween Express is a favorite at the Verde Canyon Railroad as ghouls, ghosts and goblins meander through the aisles of our coaches on our way to the ghost ranch of Perkinsville and back.
Sedona Jazz on the Rocks
October 2nd
This is a perfect opportunity to take that well deserved vacation and head up to the red rocks of Sedona to relax, kick back and enjoy all the Jazz. This October 2nd will herald the “re-jazzination” of Sedona’s Jazz on the Rocks, a very special Arizona tradition. Sedona’s Jazz on the Rocks will be adding an exciting twist this year, by expanding the musical line up to include Blues and R&B.

October 9th & 10th
With over 150 nationally known artists displaying their work surrounded by red rock splendor along with live music, prizes and an interactive kid zone, there is no better place to spend an October weekend than at the Sedona Arts Festival. The festival will be at the Sedona Red Rock High School.

Guided Hikes
Geology Hike – October 10th (2:00 pm)
Visitors can join a volunteer on a guided geology hike through Red Rock State Park. You will learn why the rocks are red, where they came from, where they are going, and more.- Moonlight Hike – October 22nd & 23rd (5:00 pm)

Chamber Music Sedona

There will be two concerts taking place in October presented by Chamber Music Sedona as part of their “Magical Music in the Red Rocks”.
- Santa Fe Guitar Quartet of Argentina – October 17th
The Santa Fe Guitar Quartet (SFGQ) from Santa Fe, Argentina, is an innovative guitar ensemble whose repertoire ranges from Baroque works to modern tangos. - Eugenia Zukerman, flute and Milana Strezeva, piano – October 31st
Eugenia Zukerman is an internationally renowned recitalist and soloist. Her 2010-2011 season includes appearances as a flutist, writer, artistic director, television/web journalist and educator. She is joined by Manhattan Piano Trio pianist, Milana Strezeva, in a program of music by women composers.
Sedona Plein Air Festival

Sedona Plein Air Festival is a celebration of Sedona’s extraordinary beauty as seen through the eyes of 30 of the finest plein air painters in the country. The week long festival will feature these painters all over town – on the streets, trailheads, creeks and vistas – capturing the beauty of the Sedona area on canvas. “En pleinair,” French for “in the open air,” is a spontaneous art form with artists creating outdoors, responding to the immediacy of the moment and reflecting the excitement of the changing light, weather conditions and deepening shadows on canvas.
