Haunted Halloween Express is a favorite at the Verde Canyon Railroad as ghouls, ghosts and goblins meander through the aisles of our coaches on our way to the ghost ranch of Perkinsville and back.

Sedona Jazz on the Rocks
October 2nd

This is a perfect opportunity to take that well deserved vacation and head up to the red rocks of Sedona to relax, kick back and enjoy all the Jazz. This October 2nd will herald the “re-jazzination” of Sedona’s Jazz on the Rocks, a very special Arizona tradition. Sedona’s Jazz on the Rocks will be adding an exciting twist this year, by expanding the musical line up to include Blues and R&B.

Sedona Arts Festival
October 9th & 10th
With over 150 nationally known artists displaying their work surrounded by red rock splendor along with live music, prizes and an interactive kid zone, there is no better place to spend an October weekend than at the Sedona Arts Festival. The festival will be at the Sedona Red Rock High School.

Red Rock State Park
Guided Hikes

  • Geology Hike – October 10th (2:00 pm)
Visitors can join a volunteer on a guided geology hike through Red Rock State Park. You will learn why the rocks are red, where they came from, where they are going, and more.

Sedona Plein Air Festival is a celebration of Sedona’s extraordinary beauty as seen through the eyes of 30 of the finest plein air painters in the country. The week long festival will feature these painters all over town – on the streets, trailheads, creeks and vistas – capturing the beauty of the Sedona area on canvas. “En pleinair,” French for “in the open air,” is a spontaneous art form with artists creating outdoors, responding to the immediacy of the moment and reflecting the excitement of the changing light, weather conditions and deepening shadows on canvas.
