“Pilgrimage to Bethlehem”
Free community event for the entire family!
While you are vacationing in Sedona, Arizona during the third weekend of December make sure to take time to enjoy the “Pilgrimage to Bethlehem” a free community event put on by Potter’s Hand Productions taking place at the Tequa Festival Marketplace located at 7000 Highway 179 in Sedona.
Experience the past as you stroll through the streets of Bethlehem as it appeared 2000 years ago. The festival starts with the blowing of a horn, traditionally that of a ram called a shofar. As you stroll the streets, bands of travelers will greet you with a smile and a handful of shekels (a form of currency from ancient times).
There will be vendors in the Bethlehem market showing off their fine wares, shepherds will be out with their sheep and goats, villagers will be out to be counted for the census as imposing Roman soldiers march through the streets. This year they are also adding a new Christmas Concert taking place at 5:00 pm. This truly is an adventure into the past and will leave you feeling as if you were actually there 2000 years ago.
